1. About BuildLab

BuildLab ("BuildLab", "we", "us", "our") operates the website and platform at https://buildlabpro.com, providing automotive build-planning, AI estimates, parts discovery, comparison, community and marketplace features.

By creating an account or using BuildLab you agree to these Terms, our Privacy Policy and our Subscription and Refund Policy.

2. Accounts

You must provide accurate information, keep your sign-in details secure, and maintain access to your account. You are responsible for activity carried out through your account, subject to applicable law. Tell us promptly if you believe your account has been accessed without permission.

You must not misuse BuildLab, interfere with its operation, attempt unauthorised access, scrape or overload the service, or use it for unlawful purposes. See our Acceptable Use and Community Guidelines.

Eligibility / minimum age: [OWNER TO CONFIRM]. BuildLab does not currently verify users' ages.

3. BuildLab Premium

BuildLab Premium is a paid subscription that unlocks additional features. The features included depend on your plan and are described on the Premium page. The plan name, price, currency and billing frequency are shown before you confirm a purchase.

We may improve, change or retire features over time. If we make a material change that reduces paid features you have already paid for, we will handle it transparently, give notice where appropriate, and comply with applicable law.

4. Free Trials

Where offered, a free trial provides temporary access to applicable Premium features for the trial period displayed at signup. Before a trial starts you will be told whether a payment method is required, whether the trial converts into a paid subscription, the price and billing frequency that apply afterwards, and how to cancel. If a trial converts automatically, you can cancel before it ends to avoid the first paid charge. Trials granted by BuildLab directly (for example competition or promotional access) end automatically and do not charge you. Applicable consumer rights remain unaffected.

5. Payments

Payments are processed by our payment provider, Stripe. BuildLab does not store your full card details. The price, billing frequency and currency presented at checkout govern that purchase, including any applicable taxes shown at checkout. By purchasing you authorise the recurring charge to your chosen payment method until you cancel.

6. Cancellation and Refunds

Premium renews automatically at the selected interval until cancelled. You can cancel at any time from Profile → Subscription ("Manage subscription" or "Cancel subscription"). Cancellation stops future renewals; you generally keep Premium access until the end of the period already paid for. Cancellation does not automatically create a refund. Refunds are handled under our Subscription and Refund Policy, and any refund rights required by law are preserved.

7. AI Features, Estimates and Automotive Advice

BuildLab's AI build recommendations, horsepower and torque estimates, simulated dyno graphs, performance predictions, part compatibility results, cost estimates, troubleshooting guidance and modification suggestions are estimates and general information only. They are not guarantees and are not professional mechanical, engineering, tuning, safety, legal or compliance advice.

Simulated dyno results are not physical dynamometer measurements. Results depend on the accuracy and completeness of the vehicle information and parts you provide, installation quality, supporting modifications, tuning, fuel, condition and operating environment. AI systems can make mistakes.

Before buying or installing parts, independently verify fitment, clearances, fuel requirements, supporting modifications, engine limits and tuning requirements, and use a qualified mechanic, tuner or certifier where appropriate. Modifications can affect reliability, warranty, insurance, emissions compliance, roadworthiness, registration and road legality; you are responsible for checking the requirements that apply to you before using a modified vehicle. BuildLab's tools are informational aids and do not replace professional advice, real dyno testing or safety inspections.

8. Third-Party Parts, Links and Sellers

BuildLab shows search results, links and listings from third-party retailers and marketplace sellers. BuildLab is not the seller of those products unless clearly stated. Prices, stock, shipping, specifications and availability can change. Sellers control their products, sales, warranties, returns and fulfilment; review the seller's terms before buying. BuildLab has not independently verified every listing and does not guarantee that any part suits your vehicle or build. Some links may be affiliate links — see our Affiliate Disclosure.

9. Your Content

You keep ownership of the builds, photos, posts, reviews, listings and other content you create or upload. You confirm you have the rights and permissions needed to share it. You grant BuildLab a limited, non-exclusive licence to host, store, process, reproduce and display that content as necessary to provide the features you choose to use. Content you make public may be visible to other users and visitors according to that feature's visibility settings. You must not upload unlawful, infringing, deceptive or abusive content, and we may moderate or remove content where justified under these Terms and applicable law.

10. Intellectual Property

BuildLab's software, name, branding, logos, design and original content are owned by or licensed to BuildLab. You may not copy, modify, distribute or commercially exploit them without permission. BuildLab does not claim ownership of your vehicles, photographs or original build content.

11. Availability

We aim to keep BuildLab reliable but do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free availability. Features may be unavailable during maintenance, updates or events outside our control.

12. Liability and Consumer Rights

To the extent permitted by law, BuildLab is not liable for loss arising from reliance on estimates, simulations or AI output without independent verification, from third-party products, websites or sellers, or from modifications made to vehicles. This does not exclude liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.

Nothing in these Terms excludes, restricts or modifies any right or remedy, including under the New Zealand Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 and Fair Trading Act 1986 or equivalent laws in your country, that cannot lawfully be excluded, restricted or modified. Where you use BuildLab for business purposes, the Consumer Guarantees Act may not apply to the extent permitted by law.

13. Account Closure

You can stop using BuildLab at any time. To request deletion of your account, email buildlabcars@gmail.com from your account email. Self-service account deletion is not currently available in the app. See the Privacy Policy for what happens to your information.

14. Changes to These Terms

The latest version and its effective date are shown on this page. For material changes we will give notice where appropriate (for example by email or in the app) and will not change the terms of an existing paid subscription where notice or consent is required without providing it.
